TNUVA - DAIRIES

 

Tnuva was founded in 1926 with the decision of the Jewish agricultural settlements in the Land of Israel - moshavim and kibbutzim - to centralize and coordinate all the stages in the possessing, production and marketing of fresh agricultural produce. At first Tnuva only delivered fresh milk for consumption and only later added milk products as it became established. At the beginning of the 1930's Tnuva began marketing additional fresh produce from the agricultural sector: Eggs, poultry, vegetables and fruit.

 

Tnuva developed and grew together with the growth of the Jewish settlements in the Land of Israel, and after the founding of the state it played an important part   in the development of the Israeli economy. Tnuva is closely associated with the history of the historic Zionist movement and in the annals of the pre-state settlements and the nation that followed.  Hundreds of refrigerated trucks bringing fresh produce carry the Tnuva logo, arriving day in and day out throughout the year, to every settlement however small in every corner of the country. Tnuva over the years has become an integral part of the daily life of every child, every family and every home in Israel. In the 1950's and '60's it promoted the idea of "Tnuva children" as an expression for healthy children who benefit from good nutrition, natural and tasty.

 

In 1996 new management was installed which decided to give Tnuva a facelift and turn it into a  company concerned with its consumers, a company which can compete by adapting itself to the conditions of the modern marketplace. The new management instituted a number of revolutionary changes starting with reducing the central staff, spreading responsibility and giving the various divisions economic autonomy. This improved the business efficiency of the divisions, and also improved their ability to compete; and Tnuva began to stride forward into the new millennium.

 

Basically the reorganization of Tnuva was a marketing and branding revolution. A marketing system that was founded upon benefits to the consumer became the spearhead of Tnuva's business operations, by locating, identifying and developing the consumer's concerns and activating Tnuva's different divisions to answer those needs.   The importance of the brand was paramount for the marketing effort; a brand with clear values which embodied a promise to the consumer which was believable and achievable. It applied to all Tnuva's divisions, and especially to the dairy products.

 

Our firm Kor Az Ltd. designed all the cooling, energy storage, air conditioning, refrigeration and   ventilation systems. 

These are highly reliable industrial systems and the dairy has been operating for years without a break and/or a shutdown due to a failure of the cooling systems. 

One of the biggest energy storage systems in the world is installed in the dairy - 3,000 tons of ice which is the equivalent of 240,000,000 kilocalories.
