SUNFROST – FROZEN VEGETABLES

Sunfrost is the market leader in Israel in the field of frozen vegetables.
Sunfrost produces a wide variety of frozen vegetables and mixed vegetables. About 30% of its products are exported to leading chains and producers in Europe and North America; most of them long time customers for more than 30 consecutive years.
In addition, Sunfrost produces frozen baked goods through its subsidiary Maadanot.

Sunfrost was established in 1970 as a partnership between Clal Industries and American entrepreneurs.
In 1982 the company shares were offered on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
In 1998 Tnuva acquired control of the company from Clal.
In 2004 there was a public issue of convertible debentures.
The company's shareholders are: Tnuva 80%, 20% held by the public

By virtue of the quality of Israeli vegetables and the quality of the processes for handling them, Sunfrost found, almost from day one, loyal customers in the leading chains and brands worldwide.
Marketing to these customers dictated the necessity of meeting the highest quality standards, which were embedded in the company and from which   the Israeli consumer also benefits.

The company owns a factory for the processing and freezing of fresh vegetables which is one of the most modern and advanced in the world. It has at its disposal a large team of production workers, an array of agricultural specialists, food technologists and quality controllers.

As the leading company in its sector, Sunfrost   emphasizes   innovation, product development and packaging, brand reinforcement, preservation of its position and increasing the demand for all product categories.

Sunfrost is committed to a policy of high quality and meets the strictest standards such as:
ISO 2000-9001 International Quality Management, which demands the organization supply products which meet customer/consumer requirements as well as standards set by law.
HACCP - a systematic preventative approach to food safety based on   identifying potential food safety hazards during production and transportation in order to insure that the products are safe for consumption.
BRC - the British Global Standard, which was adopted by the European Union and is based on a system of identifying and managing risks.
OHSAS 18001 - Occupational Health and Safety Management system, a management system which controls all the components of an organization's operation relating to the employees' safety and health.
EUREGAP which sets standards for the certification of fresh agricultural products (not processed) and is required by the European supermarket chains. The standard promises compliance with the highest   standards in the quality of raw materials.  Farmers who grow produce for Sunfrost are certified by this standard.

Our company Kor Az Ltd. planned the transition of the Sunfrost factory from Ashdod and adapted the cooling and freezing systems which work on ammonia R717 to the freezing equipment which was found in the Pri HaEmek factory to which the Sunfrost freezing plant was moved.

The planning was characterized by providing solutions for combining the existing systems with the systems being transferred while making sure that the highest safety standards were maintained.
